WP Statistics V14.7
On this page
We are excited to announce a new feature in WP Statistics version 14.7: the Privacy Audit. The purpose of this feature is to make sure that your use of WP Statistics remains privacy-friendly while being fully flexible to suit your needs. Since default settings may not meet all use cases, especially when personal identifiable information (PII) may be collected, the Privacy Audit provides an approach to managing privacy compliance.
What is the Privacy Audit?
Your WP Statistics settings are checked by WP Statistics’ Privacy Audit tool to ensure they comply with best practices. This tool is for users who might adjust settings in ways that could potentially capture PII.
Key Features of the Privacy Audit
- Custom Compliance Checks: The audit reviews WP Statistics settings to ensure they conform to privacy laws, focusing on aspects that might impact the privacy-friendliness of your analytics.
- Personalized Recommendations: Depending on how WP Statistics is configured on your site, the Privacy Audit offers specific recommendations to modify settings that could impact user privacy, helping you maintain or enhance privacy protections.
- Clear Compliance Reports: The dashboard shows which settings are privacy-compliant and which ones need your attention, making it easy to manage and adjust settings.
Benefits of Using the Privacy Audit
- Enhanced Control: Provides the tools to fine-tune WP Statistics to ensure that it remain privacy-friendly according to your specific operational requirements.
- Proactive Compliance: Helps proactively manage privacy settings to avoid unintended collection of PII, aligning with global data protection standards.
- Reduced Compliance Risk: Minimizes the risk of non-compliance and potential legal repercussions by keeping your settings optimized for privacy.
- Trust and Transparency: Build trust with your website visitors by demonstrating a commitment to maintaining high standards of privacy.
Accessing the Privacy Audit
The Privacy Audit feature is enabled by default for all WP Statistics users. To disable this feature, go to Settings → User Data Protection → Debugging & Advanced Options.
We are committed to supporting our users in maintaining a privacy-friendly environment with this new feature. It gives you peace of mind and increases trust among your site visitors by ensuring that your privacy settings align with the legal requirements and your privacy expectations.
