Robot Exclusions

Note: The Robot Exclusions feature prevents selected user‑agents from being counted in your analytics. It does not block any bots from accessing your site.

Why filter robots?

Automated crawlers like search engines or uptime monitors can inflate your page‑view totals. WP Statistics uses the Device Detector library to skip the most common bots. Add your own entries only when you need to ignore additional agents.

Add your own exclusions

Open Settings → Filtering & Exceptions → Custom Bot Exclusions.
Enter one user‑agent snippet per line (substring match, no regex).
Click Save.

Tips for writing patterns

Use distinctive fragments such as Pinterestbot.
Copy the exact text from your server logs.
Avoid very short strings like bot to prevent false matches.
