Integrating WP Statistics with Real Cookie Banner

Set WP Statistics to start counting visitors only after they have given the “Statistics” consent in Real Cookie Banner, ensuring GDPR/ePrivacy compliance.

Step 1 — Add WP Statistics to Real Cookie Banner

  1. Cookies ▸ Dashboard → Update Templates to fetch the latest services.
  2. Add the WP Statistics service:
    • Scanner method: Cookies ▸ Scanner → Start Scan → accept WP Statistics suggestion.
    • Manual method: Cookies ▸ Services (Cookies) → Add Service → search “WP Statistics” → Add.
  3. Publish the service so visitors can grant or deny consent for statistics.

Step 2 — Enable the integration in WP Statistics

  1. WP Statistics ▸ Settings ▸ Privacy & Data Protection.
  2. Set Consent Plugin Integration to Real Cookie Banner.
  3. Click Update.

Step 3 — Clear your caches

If you use any caching, optimization, or CDN plugin/service, purge its cache now. Otherwise WordPress may keep serving an outdated version of the scripts.

Test the setup

  1. Open your site in an incognito/private window.
  2. Decline the Statistics category → browse a few pages → counts should not increase.
  3. Accept the category → reload pages → counts should increase.

That’s it! Your analytics now run only with proper user consent. Update your Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy accordingly.
