Monitor Online Visitors:

This option allows you to monitor and display the visitors currently online on your website, including the duration of their activity.

  • Note: If disabled, visitor tracking will still continue, but the real-time online tracking feature will be turned off.

Track Logged-In User Activity:

Tracks the activities of logged-in users, including their page views and actions on the site. The system records their activities with their WordPress User ID for in-depth insights.

  • Note: If disabled, logged-in users will be tracked anonymously, similar to regular visitors.

Privacy Impact – This setting can affect user privacy. Adjust with caution to ensure compliance with privacy standards. For more details, visit the Privacy Audit page in your WP Statistics section of WordPress.

Store Entire User Agent String:

This option records detailed information from the visitors’ user agents (e.g., browser, device type) for diagnostic purposes. It’s important to note that if “Hash IP Addresses” is enabled, this function is bypassed, and data collection is adjusted for privacy.

  • How to Use: Enable this to collect comprehensive data on visitor user agents. This can help diagnose technical issues related to specific browsers or devices.

Tracker Configuration

Tracking Method

This setting allows you to choose between different tracking methods for gathering visitor data. The recommended option is “Client Side Tracking,” which uses the visitor’s browser to collect data.

  • Implication: Client Side Tracking offers better accuracy and compatibility with caching mechanisms. “Server Side Tracking” is an alternative but is less accurate and will eventually be phased out.

Deprecated Feature Notice

Server Side Tracking will be deprecated in version 15.

Bypass Ad Blockers

Enabling this feature helps to dynamically load the tracking script with unique names and addresses to circumvent ad blockers that might prevent tracking scripts from running.
