Knowing where your website visitors come from is essential for improving your content and strategy. In WP Statistics version 14.11, we introduced two new categories to help with this: Organic Search and Paid Search. These categories let you easily see which visitors found your site through search engines and whether they came through unpaid (organic) or paid (advertisement) searches.
Why We Added ChatGPT Traffic to Organic Search
Recently, OpenAI launched ChatGPT search (more details here), which means people can now find websites through ChatGPT’s answers. To keep things clear and organized, we decided to add ChatGPT traffic to the Organic Search category starting with WP Statistics version 14.11.3. So, if someone finds your site through ChatGPT, this will now show up as Organic Search traffic.
What This Means for You
By categorizing ChatGPT as Organic Search, we help you:
- Track new visitors coming from AI-driven searches.
- See all organic search sources (like Google and ChatGPT) in one place.
- Get more accurate insights into which search tools bring people to your site.
