Troubleshooting License Validation Errors

If you’re having trouble with license validation, here are some common issues and steps to resolve them. This guide will help you fix errors and manage domains for your WP Statistics plugin license.

Common License Validation Issues

1. Expired License

Make sure your license is active. If it has expired, you won’t be able to validate it or receive updates. To restore functionality, renew your license on the website.

2. Incorrect License Key

Double-check the license key you’re entering. Even a small typo can cause validation to fail. You can find the correct license key in your WP Statistics account or in your purchase confirmation email.

3. Domain Limit Exceeded

Licenses often come with a limit on how many domains they can be used on. If you’ve reached that limit, you’ll need to either remove a domain or upgrade to a license that allows more installations.

4. Connection Issues

WP Statistics needs to connect to a licensing server to validate your key. If your server’s firewall or hosting provider is blocking this connection, the validation may fail. Ensure that your server can connect to external servers.

How to Add or Edit a Domain in Your License

1. Log in to Your WP Statistics Account

Visit the WP Statistics website and log into your account.

2. Find Your License

In your dashboard, go to the Subscriptions section. Choose the subscription you want to manage.

3. Manage Domains

On the license details page, click Manage Domains.

4. Add or Edit a Domain

5. Revalidate the License in WordPress

After updating your domain list, go back to your WP Statistics plugin settings in WordPress. Enter or revalidate your license key and click Activate License.

Multisite and Subdomain Licensing

If you’re using WordPress Multisite/Network or have sites on subdomains, remember that each subdomain (e.g., site1.example.com, site2.example.com) or subdirectory (e.g., example.com/site1) is considered a separate domain for licensing. Make sure to add each site’s domain or subdomain individually to your license, even if they’re part of the same WordPress network.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve most license validation issues and manage domains easily. If problems persist, reach out to WP Statistics support for further help.
