Page URLs Visited
- Logs which pages/posts are viewed to help site owners identify popular content.
Referring Pages
- Notes the URLs that referred traffic to the site (e.g., search engines or social media).
User-Agent Details
- Stores simplified browser and device information by default.
- Can store full User-Agent strings if specifically enabled for troubleshooting.
IP Address (Anonymized by Default)
- WP Statistics anonymizes or hashes IP addresses so they cannot be used to identify individual visitors.
- Site owners may choose to store full IP addresses instead, but that is not the default setting.
Geolocation
- Estimates the visitor’s country/region/city based on IP. IP addresses themselves aren’t stored by default—only summarized location data.
Logged-In User IDs
- If enabled, WP Statistics can record the pages visited by specific logged-in user accounts.

3. Default Privacy-Friendly Configuration

By default, WP Statistics:

Places No Cookies: No tracking cookies or other persistent identifiers are used.
Anonymizes + Hashes IPs: Prevents exact visitor identification.
Stores Data Locally: All information is kept in the WordPress database on the site owner’s server.

This means no data is transmitted externally to WP-Statistics.com or any third party through WP Statistics.

4. Data Storage & Ownership

Local Database: All analytics data is stored in the WordPress database controlled by the website owner.
No Transmission to WP-Statistics.com: WP Statistics does not transmit visitor data to us at WP-Statistics.com or any other external service.
Site Owner Accountability: Each site owner determines how the plugin is configured and therefore has the responsibility to comply with all relevant data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).

5. Optional Data Collection

WP Statistics includes features that can collect data considered personal under certain laws:

Full IP Storage: If the site owner deactivates anonymization.
Full User-Agent Storage: If the site owner enables detailed logging.
Logged-In User IDs: If the site owner decides to track individual registered user activity.

In these cases, the site owner should disclose these practices in their own Privacy Policy and ensure they comply with legal requirements (e.g., obtaining consent if needed).

Designed for GDPR, CCPA, & PECR Compliance: WP Statistics is built to meet strict privacy standards by default.
Recommended Settings: We encourage site owners to keep IP anonymization and hashing enabled to protect user privacy.
Data Retention Policies: We recommend regularly purging older logs that might contain identifiable data if collected.

If you’re visiting a third-party website that uses WP Statistics:
